Puget Sound Energy customers can now take advantage of the Energy Smart Eastside programs.
As a preferred installer, we can help qualifying residents stack incentives to save $5,500 - $8,000 when replacing a gas furnace with a heat pump.
Available to all Eastside residents who purchase a Mitsubishi heat pump.
Available to Eastside residents who switch from a fossil-fuel burning heat source (natural gas, propane, oil, wood) to a qualified heat pump, and whose income is under 150% of area median income. Stacks well with the PSE Go Electric rebate and IRA Tax Credit. See if you qualify!

Currently, customers are eligible for contractor discounts up to $2000, deferred loans, and $2000 in IRA Tax Credits.

Seattle City Light offers contractor's an instant discount when purchasing qualifying heat pumps that can be passed on to customers.
Discounts range from from $400 - $600 based on the energy efficiency rating of the equipment and can be combined with the IRA Tax Credits.

Federal
Federal tax credits of up to $2,000 are now available to all households regardless of income for qualifying heat pumps under the IRA.
Ducted heat pump systems can qualify in two ways:
1. Systems that have earned the ENERGY STAR label are eligible.
2. Systems designated as “ENERGY STAR Cold Climate” with an EER2 rating greater than or equal to 10.
Mini-split (non-ducted) systems can also qualify in two ways:
1. AHRI-certified systems with:

SEER2 rating greater than or equal to 16

HSPF rating greater than or equal to 9
2. AHRI-certified "ENERGY STAR Cold Climate" systems with:

Keep in mind that products need to be rated under the new ENERGY STAR (version 6.1) which became effective January 1, 2023.

File your taxes and claim the tax credit on your tax return.
You will need to file form 5695 to claim the tax credit (officially called the Residential Energy Efficient Property Credit). There are no income requirements to be eligible for the tax credit. Consult your tax advisor as necessary.
Any combination of heat pumps, heat pump water heaters and biomass stoves/boilers are subject to an annual total limit of $2000.
Yes and no.
The IRA included point of sale rebates for qualifying heat pumps based on household income. Unfortunately, the details about how these rebates will work and who will be eligible are still being worked out by our state legislature and are not expected to roll out fully until sometime in 2024 or 2025
